Traditional, or our way? You’ll be asking yourself that question many times when planning your wedding day. My advice, go with what makes YOU feel good on this one! I don’t believe this is a selfish decision, it’s personal. When you see the love of your life for the first time on your wedding day, the moment will be special no matter what. Let’s be honest, you’re not looking at the setting in this moment, you are focused on the magic of that moment, and checking your fine love out!!

I believe that beyond the romance of this moment, the aesthetics are equally as important. For example this wedding I photographed at The Farm at Dover in Wisconsin. The barn setting is very “IN” right now, and I personally love the dynamics of shooting at such a setting. There were so many options we could have gone with when it came to the first look. This couple was very much set on the idea of having a private first look. When I photographed it, as the only witness, I quickly learned why. The beautiful couple really relished in the moment. It was extremely powerful and emotional. The two first read some words they had written for each other. Once they finished reading their love letters, they then revealed themselves to one another. I was honored to have the opportunity to be the only witness, and the responsibility of documenting that moment.
